Chillin' with My Villians

Daddy took the boys out to run errands the other night and they came back with frostys.
George is packed away his 'banilla frrrawstee' as quickly as possible.

He's using as spoon because he found the straw too difficult. Daddy handed him the shake with a straw and George started sucking away, but nothing came out. He finally gave up and said "Daddy it NOT working! It broken!"

Somebody else was enjoying banilla AND chocolate

How sweet it is!

Today we finally had some popsicle weather

"Don't even THINK about touching mine, Mister..."

Today I was not feeling terribly with it, and for some reason decided to make a pancake breakfast. With George helping. Not smart. I added baking soda where it called for baking powder and vice versa, made all sorts of mess. But strangely enough, they tasted ok. And for some absurd reason I DOUBLED the recipe. Now I have a freezer well stocked with buttermilk pancakes.

I surveyed the wreckage when we were through, and promptly decided to abdicate all household responsibilities for the day. We spent most of the morning on the porch or playing outside. Then we ate Popsicles and yogurt for lunch and all took three hour naps. When we got up Daddy had some free time and we all went down to the pool until supper.

Daddy worked with George and today he swam on his OWN (in his life jacket of course). He was very proud of himself. He tootled between Daddy and the ladders shouting "I swimmin'! I swimming all lots of places!!!"

More:

We've been watching Cranford on laundry folding days. George LOVES it, especially the scenes with broken bones and surgery. Last night I returned it to the person I borrowed it from, and this morning I had to tell George. He slowly teared up and said "You turned it? That makes me sad. See? My tears are fawlin out!"

~*~

George blew his nose very hard and announced "See? That was a SPEED snot!"

~*~

Today he was carrying around a tiny stuffed duckie, cradling it, patting it's head and calling it 'mine sister'. "See Muh? Dis is my little, tiny sister. She a bird. Look Ankie. See mine sister? Don't tug on her! Be gentoh! She maked you smile." When he wanted to play cars, he'd put the duckie down and say "Here little Sister, you watch. I love you soooo much!"

During an intensive rough housing session with Daddy, George began to tire. He stopped bouncing and announced "Mine heart is beeping! I need take a rest!"

I love George stories!

And everyone keeps telling me that I need to see Cranford...That's Gaskell, right?

Yes, it is! And it is a must-see. Once it's all over and done you realize that nothing really actually happened but it was so much fun to watch you don't even care!

So true - but I love watching the nothing happen. :) Gaskell is sometimes too sad for me, but on the whole, I really enjoy her work!

She's not really great on escapist entertainment, yet the stories are still quite beautiful, even though boxes of kleenex are needed to watch or read her.

Oh no, that makes me sad for poor ol' George (regarding Cranford, that is). Sorry, George! Maybe he'll be consoled in hearing about the new Cranford coming out...hopefully lots of happy scenes (and less death and dying) in this one.

OH, but it wouldn't be half the fun without at least one romance ending tragically in death by disease or disaster ;)
